The Snake in the River

A local legend tells of a giant snake that lives in a river relatively far from the Village, but within the lands of the Warlord. The Warlord’s men say that Jarvanax made a deal with the Python, as they call it, and that the Village is safe as long as it is loyal to Jarvanax.

Javanax’s men also say that Jarlax, the Warlord’s son, was swallowed whole by the Python when he was still just a child. However, Jarlax being invincible, he fought his way back out.

Old people say this is just a trick so people would continue to pay their taxes.
